"To promote conservation and recreation on the
Ipswich River"
The Ipswich River Recreation Project has been formulated to promote conservation and recreation on the Ipswich River. Listed as the third most endangered river in America in 2003 by American Rivers, the river currently faces many environmental issues which threaten its very existence. The project is sponsored by the Middleton Stream Team, and its extent is to create and install six informational kiosks at existing canoe launches along the Ipswich River in the towns of Middleton, Topsfield, and Hamilton. Each kiosk will provide up-to-date river information and maps on one side, and a permanent conservation display on the other side. The topic of each display will be different for each kiosk in order to keep travelers interested and informed about various conservation topics along the river. Through this we will be able to promote conservation and save the amazing state of the river for generations to come.
